2011 Infiniti QX spotted alive, well and redesigned

After five years of dismal sales and repeated rumors that Nissan might be scrapping the thing all together, a new Infiniti QX seems to be just around the corner as a 2011 model.
These two photographs of an all-new 2011 Infiniti QX provide a first glimpse of a significantly bulkier, shorter and most probably Nissan Patrol (Safari) based version of the current outgoing QX56. The front grille, light treatments and fender treatment make the QX a worthy sportsy competitor to the Toyota Land Cruiser but Jalopnik notes the squared off front borrows from the down market Kia Soul.
Details of the car haven’t surfaced yet but it’ll probably be just a matter of time before we hear more. My only wish is for the fender vents to go away. [via Speed Sport Life]
