Honda says real Crosstour ugly, 3D photos are better

2010 Honda Crosstour Price

Honda’s Accord Crosstour PR campaign has done a dismal job of stirring positive interest. Internet forums, websites and even Honda’s own Facebook page are now home to thousands of negative commenters upset over the new crossover’s radically awkward styling.

The reaction is similar to the famous Pontiac Aztec outrage: few people thought it was ok, most thought it looked ugly, and no one thought it was worth buying. What made matters worse for Honda though is that Eddie Okubo, the guy in charge of Honda’s light truck division, started peddling the car to those that “need some space and performance”. Not cool.

The whole Crosstour launch has stunk. And Honda’s back at it with new photos of a cherry red rendering. The first photos of a real car were so unflattering that Honda’s now pushing computer renderings for a better reaction. So sad.

Kill the Accord Crosstour and bring us the Accord Tourer.

They probably would have been better off if they actually made a wagon based off of the Accord like they did a few generations ago.

I think Honda US is moving too far from its roots… and is forgetting what made the company a success.

Time to go back there, whilst they still have time to go back…
