Refreshed Lexus GS line-up arrives in Japan

2 September 2009 One Comment

Lexus Japan has announced that the next Lexus GS range will receive a minor facelift and several improvements ranging from new headlights, active headrests, and variations of exterior and interior colors. The chrome on the lower door panels? It’s new too.

Photos from the Lexus Japan website reveal possible interior changes that include a HDD-based navigation system in place of he current DVD system. The navigation system relies on a new MAP on Demand system that allows owners to update GPS data wirelessly. Seperately, a new USB connector to hook electronics is now standard.

The 2010 model year upholds Lexus’ reputation for quality interiors with very nice interior material/color combinations

The GS is currently produced in several different grades: The GS350, GS350 Version I, GS460, GS460 Version I and L as well as the Hybrid GS450h, GS450h Version I and L. However, the GS will be available only as a Hybrid in the UK.

There’s no news whether or not these changes will translate to North America.

@ this point, I am surprised that they are bothering w/ the GS since sales are really low & Infiniti is set to launch a new M.

A new GS instead of a refresh would help them in this class.
