Honda Accord Crosstour spied – coming October

Honda Accord Stationwagon

Honda put up a website last week announcing that a brand new model’s coming to North America, but Temple of VTEC has confirmed my suspicion that the unnamed car’s infact the production model of the Honda Crosstour stationwagon we’ve seen before. That was the mule, this is the real deal. And the real deal makes me think Honda’s smoking the same thing BMW was smoking when they drew on a “sportback”.

I cant say I’m in love, but the new photos make me think Honda’s getting their own version of the Acura ZDX crossover. It wont be built on the ZDX’s platform (it’s still essentially a Accord) but it’s definately going head to head with it.

Either way, the source goes on to claim the crossover/stationwagon/sportback will arrive in American dealers in late October with production starting as early as August.

This does not help Acura differentiate itself from Honda. That said, I wish it had a more traditional roofline to maximize cargo capacity.

tehre is a differentiation…this thing’s going to be hideous. so much so that it makes the zdx look decent.

This new concept Honda brought into the Accord model is excellent, I think this will help boost the declining numbers on the Honda Accord sales recently. I like its unique look.
