The next Honda Civic might be a long ways from now but a dinky little drawing has opened a can of whoop ass excitement speculations. But they’re not just speculations … they’re spectacular speculations.

For instance, some people think Honda’s going to introduce the Civic’s hatch and coupe variants to emerging markets like China and India. The coupe and hatchback had a hard time in North America and I can’t imagine how they’d do in Asia.

The rumor about the Honda CR-Z hatchback concept’s and new Honda City sedan’s design language translating into the new Civic makes sense but let’s wait and see if any real information shows up on the radar. Sloppy renders by hobbyists don’t count.

Mag-X, the magazine that created all this hoopla, say the next generation Civic will debut in 2011 and roll out soon after as a 2012 model in key markets.
