Mel Gibson in Toyota Cressida

Mel Gibson tooled around Malibu yesterday without incident — while behind the wheel of a classic, sky blue Toyota Cressida. In these rough economic times, even a guy worth $900 million can’t afford to be flashy!

That, or he just wants a low profile. Makes more sense… given he rolls around in 100% black tints.

What I find most interesting is that he picked a Toyota Cressida. I know he has a thing for Japanese cars, but why not an old Accord, Altima or Camry? Why, of all things, would Mr. Hollywood pick a Cressida?

    He might already own a classic Accord, Altima and Camry and he just wanted something different to add to his collection.

    I think Mel’s best film is We Were Soldiers. It’s a powerful film.

    You act as if having a Cressida is a bad thing and that a Camry, Accord or Stanza is somehow higher up on the food chain. Not true. Cressys are amazing luxury cars.
