Honda Insight outselling Toyota Prius in Britain

Honda upped its game when it announced the reintroduction of the Insight hybrid and it seems like they’re killing Toyota at its own game. Honda is claiming it has sold 229 Insights since April 4, 2009 (when it come to market). In comparison, they allege Toyota has only sold 198 current generation Priuses. There’s just one problem…

… Honda’s comparing a new Insight with the current generation Toyota Prius. They might right to declare they’re pushing more cars but there’s more to it than just that. The next generation Prius is expected to arrive on British shores in July. That being said, Honda does have a price advantage. The Insight costs £15,490 (US$22,900) on-the-road in the UK whereas the current-generation Prius starts at£18,370 (US$27,100). Toyota is reportedly trying to lower that pricing disparity with their next generation.

Yeah I like the cars design too but i dont think it’ll win many fans. Most people just arent used to the aerodynamic look of hybrids.

It’s about time the Prius had real competition.

Now if someone would make a plush sedate CUV to actually compete w/ the RX.
