Car makers running out of space to park unsold cars

20 January 2009 18 Comments

Carmakers around the world are axing jobs and halting production as the number of unsold cars climbs to unprecedented levels. Storage areas and docksides that once functioned as temporary parking are now packed with vast number of unsold cars and it looks like they’re running out of places to put them. Nissan sure is. They’ve resorted to stashing row upon row of unsold Micras on their factory test track.

this is a clear fact that the market of new cars are saturated already. Those can afford to buy expensive vehicles already have 1 or more cars. There are new professional and middle class citizen that are not capable of the level of prices. This crisis will bring the prices to lower level and opportunity for other to experience driving brand new cars while some will be able to purchase used cars when rich owner decided to sell their slightly used vehicles..

The crisis i think is not a crisis but a trends in Economy.

The crisis has worsened with every month. I think car manufacturers should offer fantastic discounts on sales to get the unsold cars moving. Nissan can start the trend.

Prices are way too high. 25-45000 before taxes, fees etc. Not anywhere near what I’m about to pay for a vehicle. Also, they don’t make them like they used too - longevity, and they all look the same. Boring. I will never pay that kind of money.

this is due to that sometime people can ‘t afford money to buy these cars ,so the car companies should take the good steps for it.
    Thanks
