Lexus HS 250h: An upscale Prius

12 January 2009 3 Comments

The all-new Lexus HS250h brings two firsts to the Lexus nameplate: the first dedicated hybrid model and the first four-cylinder gas engine.

The much rumored Lexus HS elevates Toyota Motor Company’s hybrids into more affluent, leather loving, hippy garages. This is a hybrid for people that care more about being seen in a hybrid than saving the world in a hybrid.

Lexus has not revealed details but the automaker has said that the HS 250h’s fuel economy is 30-percent better than the most fuel-efficient model currently in the Lexus lineup. Expect to see the car (and more information about it) sooner than later.

Not impressed @ all by the looks … very un-upscale for a luxury brand.

I do applaud them for making a non-performance type of hybrid.

You are right, it certainly doesnt look upscale enough. Instead it looks like they transplanted a European Toyota and put Lexus badges on it.

Lets wait and see if they redeem themselves once the price is announced.

P.S. Thanks for your continued support. It is really appreciated.

Since it is supposed to be b/n the IS & ES, my guess would mid-thirties for the price range.
